Acupuncture + Eastern Medicine

The power of energy flow

If you have never had acupuncture you might be hesitant about those ‘needles’ but there’s much more to acupuncture than you think.

Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow - Qi, pronounced "chee" - through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.

Our highly trained registered Acupuncturists and Eastern Medicine practitioners use a variety of classical and holistic techniques, from cupping to herbal medicine, to help the body's ability to heal itself from a variety of chronic and acute conditions. Ailments that have been proven to benefit from acupuncture treatment include arthritic or common pain, injury, digestive distress, insomnia, stress, depression, anxiety and more. With each session, your energy flow is improved until your body and mind gently return to harmony.

Frequently asked questions

+ What happens during a treatment session?

In your initial consultation with your selected practitioner, you will be asked questions related to what you hope to accomplish during treatment and how long you have been experiencing symptoms of discomfort, pain or lack of mobility. We will discuss your lifestyle, your current situation and those things that are working or not working for you. Some treatment can be short term. Sometimes treatment will need to be ongoing for several months to work on deeper or more severe issues. Together you and your practitioner will come up with a plan. You will be encouraged to be an active participant in treatment, and will be offered some reading or exercises which you can do on your own to integrate the best possible healing and change. Our aim is for you to leave the first session feeling some relief and with a plan in mind.

+ What can I expect from practitioners?

You can expect to receive compassion, empathy, respect and understanding from us in an environment that feels warm, safe and inviting. You can expect to receive practical guidance and perhaps new perspectives to help you uncover and understand patterns and negative habits that are inhibiting you from living your best life. By using empathy and by paying careful attention to your words, mood, and body language, we will work in a way that feels comfortable for you, at your pace, and always with your goals in mind.

+ What does each treatment session cost? Will my health insurance pay for it?

Acupuncture treatments range from $105-$185 per individual treatment session(depending on the duration and type of the session).

All our practitioners are registered members within their field. Registered Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Naturopathic Medicine treatments sessions are typically covered by extended health benefits plans. However, as every plan is different, we ask that you confirm the exact details of your benefits in advance. We provide insurance receipts electronically and offer direct billing to.
