Our team has put together a list of recommended resources to help you find mental health care and access wellness support in our community, throughout the GTA and beyond.

This list will always be a work in progress.

Addiction Support

Addiction Rehab Toronto - Provides medical detox, addiction treatment, sober living, and aftercare services.

Rehab Recovery - Provides addiction treatment and healthcare advice for a wide range of different addiction and dependency issues.

Renascent Addiction Rehab Centre - Provides immediate addiction help, affordable treatment and services, trained and experienced addiction specialists, and support for families.

St. Joseph’s Health Centre Addiction Services - Help with problems created by the use of alcohol and other substances for individuals and families.

 

Adults and Seniors

Abbey Forest Counselling - Support for the mental health of adult and elderly individuals in the community, delivering assessment and therapy services via phone and tele-health.

 

BIPOC Health and Wellness Support

Accross Boundaries - Provides dignified, inclusive and compassionate mental health and addiction services for racialized communities in 14 languages, working within Anti-Racism/Anti-Black racism and Anti-Oppression frameworks.

Black Therapist List - Mental health is often something that goes unspoken in black communities and there are many barriers to seeking support. Black Therapist List is designed to eliminate some of these challenges by making it easier for people who are looking specifically for a black therapists in their area.

Fingerprint for Success - Support for women of colour in the work place - persistent obstacles and how you can rise to meet them.

Hope for Wellness (1-855-242-3310) -  Immediate, culturally competent mental health counselling and crisis intervention to all Indigenous peoples across Canada.

Naseeha (1 (866) 627-3342) - A mental health hotline and safe zone for Muslims and non-muslims seeking support. Texting mental health support is available 5 days a week Monday to Friday.

The LIV Collective - A Toronto-based holistic wellness platform dedicated to the health, well-being, empowerment and liberation of Black womxn and womxn of colour.

Talk 4 Healing - Culturally appropriate and confidential support and resources for Indigenous women seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Services are available in 14 languages.

Women's Health In Women's Hands -  A Community Health Centre for racialized women living in the GTA. Primary health care professionals specialize in the health and wellness needs of racialized women and prioritizes those from African, Caribbean, Latin American and South Asian communities.

 

Frontline Healthcare Workers Support

ECHO Coping with COVID - A group designed to support health care providers and doctors responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ontario Shores Health Care Workers Assist - Provides rapid access to flexible service tailored to the individual needs of health care workers experiencing mental health challenges.

 

LGBTQ2+ Mental Health Support

The 519 - Responds to the evolving needs of the LGBTQ2S communities, from counselling services and queer parenting resources to coming out groups, trans programming, and senior’s support.

LGBT Youthline - Confidential and non-judgmental peer support through telephone, text and chat services from Sunday to Friday, 4:00PM to 9:30 PM.

Trans Lifeline (877-565-8860) - Offers direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis - for the trans community, by the trans community.

Low-Cost Counselling Options

Affordable Therapy Network of Toronto -  A directory of therapists offering reduced rates, low-cost, and sliding scale fees in Toronto, Ottawa, Brampton, Hamilton, and beyond.

Hard Feelings - A welcoming community of professional counsellors who provide low-cost services and support.

Mindful Maelstrom Wellness Clinic - Providing therapy for those facing financial barriers. $95 per session with a Training Therapist. Options for further reduced rates when needed.

Open Path Psychotherapy Collective - A directory of therapists providing affordable, in-office and online psychotherapy sessions between $30 and $60.

 

OHIP Covered Services

ConnexOntario - For help connecting with the right public mental health and addictions program or support across Ontario, contact ConnexOntario - available 24/7.

Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) - From assessment to brief interventions, inpatient programs, day hospital services, continuing care, outpatient services and family support, CAMH provides a wide range of clinical care services.

 

Peer Support Services

Big White Wall  - An anonymous online community where members can support each other 24/7. This tool also allows you to complete a self-assessment, read recommended resources, explore a wide range of self-guided courses at your own pace, and use creative tools to help express how you’re feeling.

 

Self-led and Online Resources

BounceBack - A free skill-building program that adults and youth 15+ can access over the phone. With the guidance of a coach, you’ll work through a series of workbooks at your own schedule, to gain practical skills to better manage low mood, anxiety, worry or stress.

MindBeacon - Provides free, personalized digital Cognitive Behavioural Therapy across Canada.

Nobu - A mental health and wellness app, which provides access to free podcasts aimed to help individuals struggling with substance abuse, addiction, trauma, and/or various mental health conditions.

 

Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Support

Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Care Centre - A comprehensive service that assists women, men, and trans people, over the age of 14, who are victims/survivors of sexual assault and domestic/intimate partner violence.

Toronto Rape Crisis Centre (416-597-8808) - A free, 24/7, private, and confidential crisis line for victims of sexual assault.

Assaulted Women’s Healthline (1-866-863-0511) - A 24-hour crisis line that provides support, safety planning, information and referral to services throughout Ontario.

 

Woman Health and Wellness Support

Pillars of Strength Facebook Group - Facebook support group for women with partners suffering from chronic illness of any kind

 

Youth Services

Kids Help Phone - Online, phone and text support for children and youth 24/7. Call 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868. 

Stella’s Place - Offers mental health support and walk-in counselling for individuals between the ages of 16-29.

Ontario Mental Health Services for Children and Youth - A guide on how to find mental health support for children and youth under the age of 18.

Good2Talk (1-866-925-5454) - Provides confidential support services for post-secondary students in Ontario.

Ben Rauch Music Studio - Piano, voice and music teacher with a specialty in working with kids and teens experiencing symptoms of ADHD
