Find your balance.

You are not uncomfortable, tired or in pain for no reason. It’s time to listen to what your body is telling you.

It's easy for us to recognize what we don't "like" about our body. We can list off all the things we wish were different or could change. We get caught up in our physical appearance but we are talking about more than that. We are talking about how we take 'care' of our bodies. We know there is something wrong about how we 'feel in our body' and that we have to make 'a change'. But when we try to make those changes - to make our bodies healthier and stronger - we often get stuck.

Why do we find it so hard to take care of ourselves?

In order for us to grow and move forward, we have to be willing to ask hard questions and truly listen to what our bodies are telling us. Only then can we be strong enough to start living the life we not only want - but need - to be the most authentic version of ourselves.

What's your body telling you?

Acupuncture + Eastern Medicine

The power of energy flow

If you have never had acupuncture you might be hesitant about those ‘needles’ but there’s much more to acupuncture than you think.

Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow - Qi, pronounced "chee" - through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.

Our highly trained registered Acupuncturists and Eastern Medicine practitioners use a variety of classical and holistic techniques, from cupping to herbal medicine, to help the body's ability to heal itself from a variety of chronic and acute conditions. Ailments that have been proven to benefit from acupuncture treatment include arthritic or common pain, injury, digestive distress, insomnia, stress, depression, anxiety and more. With each session, your energy flow is improved until your body and mind gently return to harmony.

The power of nature

Natural. Non-invasive. Self-Healing. Naturopathic Medicine is a science-based and holistic healthcare system that combines traditional, natural, and modern scientific knowledge to help stimulate the body’s natural power.

Symptoms of discomfort and pain are seen as warning signs that the body is not functioning properly. The main goal of Naturopathic Medicine is to determine the underlying cause(s) of symptoms so that health is optimized and future illness is prevented.

A Naturopathic practitioner considers the person ‘as a whole’ to assess all of the internal and external factors that could be affecting the optimal health and physiology of the person. As a result, every treatment plan created specifically and uniquely supports the needs of each individual.

In addition to diet and lifestyle changes, natural therapies can include: nutritional supplements, botanical medicine and traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. For many patients, this holistic approach to healthcare provides a new perspective and awareness where the restoration and maintenance of optimal health can be achieved ‘naturally’.

Holistic Nutrition

The power of food

Creating positive health habits should not drive a person crazy, or feel extreme. Health begins with a simple natural foundation that stems from being good to yourself and eating nutrient-dense foods.

Holistic Nutritionists are professionals that are first and foremost educators, and a support system to provide you with nutritional tools on your journey to better health. However, having the knowledge of what one ‘ought to do for their body’ is often not enough to elicit behaviour change.

A Holistic Nutritionist will work from a strength-based approach - leaning into what works for you already nutritionally. By taking an inventory of your routines, symptoms, and mapping out where you would like to land, we build a sustainable roadmap to change in collaboration with our clients.

We are here to inform, elicit, and maintain health through whole foods and mindful practices. The body, mind, and soul are interconnected and yearn to thrive. Food is inspiring, ritualistic, brings communities together, and is meant to be enjoyed. Learn how to celebrate and nourish you + your body.

Frequently asked questions

+ What happens during a treatment session?

Each treatment session is unique to you and your needs. Depending on what treatment you decide to proceed with. In your initial consultation with your selected practitioner, you will be asked questions related to what you hope to accomplish during treatment and how long you have been experiencing symptoms of discomfort, pain or lack of mobility. We will discuss your lifestyle, your current situation and those things that are working or not working for you. Some treatment can be short term. Sometimes treatment will need to be ongoing for several months to work on deeper or more severe issues. Together you and your practitioner will come up with a plan. You will be encouraged to be an active participant in treatment, and will be offered some reading or exercises which you can do on your own to integrate the best possible healing and change. Our aim is for you to leave the first session feeling some relief and with a plan in mind.

+ What can I expect from practitioners?

You can expect to receive compassion, empathy, respect and understanding from us in an environment that feels warm, safe and inviting. You can expect to receive practical guidance and perhaps new perspectives to help you uncover and understand patterns and negative habits that are inhibiting you from living your best life. By using empathy and by paying careful attention to your words, mood, and body language, we will work in a way that feels comfortable for you, at your pace, and always with your goals in mind.

+ What does each treatment session cost? Will my health insurance pay for it?

Our fees range from $120-$190 per individual treatment session for Registered Massage Therapy (depending on the duration of the session) and $90-$145 per individual treatment session for Acupuncture (again depending on the duration of the session). Naturopathic Medicine ranges from $95-$235 (depending on the type and duration of session).

All our practitioners are registered members within their field. Registered Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Naturopathic Medicine treatments sessions are typically covered by extended health benefits plans. However, as every plan is different, we ask that you confirm the exact details of your benefits in advance. We provide insurance receipts electronically and offer direct billing to: Canada Life, Manulife, Sun Life, LiUNA Local 283, Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Alliance and Green Shield. However, please note, it is your responsibility to ensure your sessions will be covered should you choose to use benefits.

+ I'm not sure where to start, or which practitioner to choose. Who can help me?

Whether you’re looking for a new practitioner, or have never been to treatment before, the process of finding the right professional can be overwhelming. Navigating through hundreds of profiles online and confusion about the process itself may be a barrier to receiving the support you need. Our Intake Team will:

  • Work with you to understand your unique needs and goals, and will identify the practitioner who is best suited for you based on their approach and expertise
  • Help you to understand your extended health insurance benefits and will work with you to get maximum benefit from your coverage
