Usage Guidelines
Lightest 1 is a colour background in the brand colour cloud and font in the brand colour night.

Cancellation Policy
TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE
You may cancel or reschedule your appointment by email or by phone during business hours, or through your online account up until 24 hours in advance.

We require a minimum of 24 hours to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
We understand that circumstances can arise that are outside of your control. To be fair to other clients who were not able to book in your reserved time, and to our practitioners who have held this time for you, we apply our cancellation policy automatically and without bias.
If you are unable to provide sufficient notice or if your appointment is missed, the full appointment fee will be applied.
Please note that cancellation fees are not covered by private insurance.

Ensuring continuity of care wherever you are, no matter the situation.
Virtual sessions and telehealth can be an effective option for accessing support when in-person sessions are not available. Whether you are vacationing, traveling for work, injured or sick, or even running late - having a back-up plan ensures that we can continue your care wherever you are, no matter the situation.
A few things to consider before a video or phone session:
PRIVACY
Please be assured that any virtual sessions - held via your online account, or any other conferencing platforms your practitioner may use - are compliant with privacy laws. However, it is both your responsibility and your practitioner's responsibility to ensure your privacy during these virtual or phone sessions. Please consider in advance where you plan to take your session and if it is private enough for you. At the onset of your session, you and your practitioner will decide together about any privacy limits in order to keep your conversation safe.
If privacy in your home (or an alternative space) is not possible, consider these tips:
Take the call while walking in nature or another wide open area
Find a quiet seat outdoors - a park bench or balcony
Sit in your car and roll the seat back to relax
Build a fort with blankets/pillows for sound insulation - a closet works even better!
Encourage your housemates/spouse/mom to go for a walk so you have your space to yourself
COMMUNICATION
Please take a moment to insure all of your contact information is entered correctly in your client profile so we can reach you without any delays
Remember to make sure your devices are well charged and your internet connection is in good working order
In the case of video calls, please assure that the lighting in your space isn't backlit - a window or bright light behind you makes it difficult to see your face
We encourage the use of a headset for privacy and better sound quality
In the event that technology fails, your practitioner will have a back-up arrangement to conduct the session

Naturopathic sessions can be direct billed to your private health insurance

The Mindful Maelstrom space is a part of the ‘Little Portugal’ community in Toronto and holds a special place in our hearts. When Kristina Dragnea (Psychotherapist and founder of MM) was looking for a warm and welcoming environment, she had to look no further than her own family’s backyard. Continuing on the legacy of her grandparents, (who Kristina affectionally calls the OGs of Ossington), Mindful Maelstrom is an imaginative and safe space for healing and growth within the family home that has been in this community for over 40 years.
Building upon this connection, we have made it our mission to continue to give back to the community that we graciously and proudly call home. That because community involvement and being a good ‘citizen’ is one of our values. We see it as the opportunity to support our community.
